Terms of Service — Access Assertions for Jira

Effective: August 15, 2026

These terms cover your use of Access Assertions for Jira (“the app”), built and operated by Mickel Samuel.

What the app does

The app tests access rules you define against the effective permissions in your Jira Cloud site and reports what it can prove: PASS when every required source was read and no violation exists, FAIL when a violation was positively proven, UNKNOWN when the proof could not be completed. It is a reporting tool. It does not modify permissions, and its results are statements about what the app could observe at the time of each run — not a certification of your site.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the rules you write, for how you act on the app’s findings, and for ensuring your use of the app complies with your organization’s policies. A PASS is not a substitute for your own judgment about who should have access to what.

License and payment

The app is licensed, not sold, through the Atlassian Marketplace under Atlassian’s standard Marketplace terms, which govern billing, trials, and refunds. Your subscription covers use of the app on the site where it is installed.

Data

The app’s data handling is described in its Privacy Policy. In short: everything stays in Atlassian Forge storage inside your own Atlassian cloud, and nothing leaves it.

Warranty and liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mickel Samuel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected in the changelog of the version they ship with. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
